One-of-a-kind. Part of a collection of 5 shadowboxes named "The Awakening", that are sold separately. This one is named "Purgatory". The entire collection tells the story of the desire to become enlightened, or awakened after going through a time of struggle through addiction. In this piece, it is following "Prelude to the Devotion of Desire," which is the first phase where one is still suffering by being attached to desire. Once one is trying to become awakened, they must enter Purgatory, where you go to suffer for your acts of sin before you can reach a state of freedom and bliss. Following "Purgatory," is a piece called, "A Place Between Heaven and Hell." This is a phase one reaches where things are still melancholy, but before you reach bliss, it gets really bad. The story continues on the next shadowbox for sale, so stay tuned.....
