One-of-a-kind shadowbox made with a painted plastic ballerina. I screwed the ballerina (a cake decoration) to a music box, which I attached to the bottom of the shadowbox to be hung on the wall. In order to make the ballerina dance, you must turn her body clockwise and she turns and plays the tune, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Ia attached lights to the box, which are attached to the bottom of the box and are illuminated by turning the switch on. The battery box takes two AA batteries, which are included. I also use metallic copper contact paper to line the inside of the ceiling of the box, and I used a star, blue patterned paper for the floor. I also attached a plastic angel at the top, and I hand-embroidered a saying, "Grace not Perfection". It is embroidered on hand-dyed velvet ribbon that I purchased, and glued to the box. 13" H x 14" W x 4" D. The meaning of this shadowbox is that ballerina's generally are worked to death, oftentimes going through traumatic experiences in order to achieve "perfection". I think it is more mentally and physically healthy to strive to be graceful instead of striving to be perfect.
